video instructions available below 👇

– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
– 2 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1/2 cup whole milk
– 4 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 2 cups fresh strawberries, finely chopped

**For the strawberry cream cheese frosting:**

– 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 4 cups powdered sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup fresh strawberries, pureed

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract.

5. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth and well combined.

6. Gently fold in the chopped strawberries until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops with a spatula.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

9. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

10. While the cakes are cooling, prepare the frosting. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.

11. Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.

12. Add the vanilla extract and strawberry puree, and beat until smooth and fluffy.

13. Once the cakes are completely cool, place one cake layer on a serving platter. Spread a generous layer of frosting over the top.

14. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.

15. Decorate with fresh strawberries and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

16. Slice, serve, and savor every delectable bite of your homemade masterpiece!
